Your Derwent & Solway, part one of the UK’s largest housing associations, is creating opportunities for Keswick-based businesses at its Greta Gardens retirement living scheme in The Headlands in Keswick, Cumbria.
The Over 55s development, which is due to open early next year, is looking for a qualified hairdresser and beauty therapist to run the hair and beauty salon and as well as a catering firm to operate the bistro from next Spring. Each business will initially take up a three-year lease in the building with preferential terms including no rental charges for the first 12 months.
For the hair and beauty offer, a fully-fitted salon and treatment room will be built, including cutting stations, salon chairs, back and front wash and reception desk. Furniture for the treatment room including a massage table will also be provided.
The bistro will provide hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks. A brand new fully fitted commercial kitchen will be installed with all tables, chairs and other furnishing such as a serving counter and display included.
In addition to running the bistro for residents of the 69 apartments on site, their visitors, staff and members of the public, there will also be opportunities to cater for functions, meetings, lunch clubs and possibly some events off site.

Since we released some of the properties for sale last month we have had a lot of interest including a couple of reservations from local people, indicating this is going to be a popular place to live.”
