As demand has already been so high, the event has been moved from its usual slot in the venue’s intimate ‘Downstairs’ bar to Fonseca’s restaurant, in order to welcome more customers.

The evening will be hosted by Luke McGovern of Pernod Ricard who will showcase some wonderful Champagnes from their portfolio. Additionally, diners will enjoy four tapas size dishes that have been designed to complement the stunning wines on offer.

General Manager of Fonseca’s Danielle Youds said: “Our monthly wine evenings continue to be a firm favourite with our regulars and the Champagne Evening is always the most popular in the calendar. We are thrilled to welcome Luke back after last year’s sell-out event. Luke will explore the history of Champagne and give us some insight into just what make this elusive and celebratory fizz so special.”

The evening will feature fine sparkling wines from Perrier Jouet and Mumm, allowing diners to sample some of the world’s most renowned and sought-after varieties. An indulgent Hibiscus Royale cocktail will kick start the evening with a suitably celebratory note and guests will enjoy an Amuse Bouche of Beetroot Cured Salmon and Ricotta Blini to accompany this.

A starter course will see guests enjoy a Mushroom and Thyme “Bruschetta” served with a glass of Mumm Cordon Rouge, NV – Riems. A tapas main course of Luxury Fritti Misti with Saffron Aioli will be accompanied by Perrier- Jouet, Grand Brut, NV- Epernay. Finally, dessert of Strawberry Shortbread will be served with Perrier- Jouet, Blason Rose, NV- Epernay beautifully concluding the love story of the house of Champagne Perrier Jouet.

The creation of Perrier Jouet Champagne is essentially a love story and it is that history, alongside its unmatched quality that secures its place as our Champagne of choice. The Perrier Jouet Champagne Evening will take place at Fonseca’s, Stanley Street on Wednesday, April 27 from 7:30pm and is priced at £39.95 per person. Booking is essential and spaces are extremely limited!  A non-refundable £10 deposit required.
