The Ravensworth Arms in Gateshead reopened its doors on Friday 24 January, showcasing the venues brand new look following £1million refurbishment.

Gateshead pub and hotel reopens with fresh new look

The popular pub and hotel, on Greenford Lane, has been significantly refurbished throughout to create a quintessentially British country pub that offers a cosy home-from-home setting, incorporating friendly staff, beautifully decorated interiors, great food and expertly chosen drinks ranges.

As part of the investment, the accompanying hotel, situated next door, has also been completely refurbished. Each of the hotel’s 19 ensuite bedrooms have received a full design overhaul, complete with Hypnos beds and a refreshed new look, which guests were able to sneak a preview at the launch party.

The venue also features a newly-decorated function room and outdoor terrace which is available to book for special events, making it the perfect place for a family party.

Situated in the heart of Gateshead, the pub and hotel are on the doorstep of Newcastle, the breath-taking Northumberland and Durham countryside and the River Tyne, making it the perfect base for exploring the local area. With views of the magnificent Angel of the North, and close to several attractions, including Ravensworth Castle and the Beamish Museum, the Ravensworth Arms is a popular destination for families visiting the area.

Catherine Shipley, general manager at the Ravensworth Arms, said: “We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating the reopening of our venue, and our Gateshead neighbours have really shown their support. Our guests are at the heart of what we do, so it was great to be able to mark the reopening with the local community.

“We’ve already had great feedback on the refurbishment, both inside and out, and the renovation of the hotel has really brought a new lease of life, ensuring the Ravensworth Arms is a relaxed destination, whatever the occasion.

“The team and I can’t wait to welcome new and returning visitors to the Ravensworth Arms very soon to show off the even better surroundings, where they can enjoy our fantastic take on classic British food and carefully curated choice of fine wines and cask ales.”

On Sundays, the new-look Ravensworth Arms offers a fabulous selection of roasts – all served with glazed seasonal veg, Yorkshire pudding, sausage meat stuffing, garlic & rosemary goose fat roast potatoes and lashings of gravy.
