Women in The Food Industry The Politics of Food Debate at City Hall

With the December elections are currently front of mind, join an event at City Hall on the evening of 16th December on the politics of food.

Women in The Food Industry The Politics of Food Debate at City Hall

Event Details:

  • Location: City Hall The Queens Walk More London London
  • Postcode: SE1 2AA

  • Starts: Mon Dec 16 2019 @18:00
  • Finishes: Mon Dec 16 2019 @21:00

By the time of the event we will know the results of the General Election and what this may mean for UK’s position within or outside of Europe. Whatever the results and drama around the political parties, Women In the Food Industry believe that more and more people are becoming concerned or interested in the politics of food. It’s hard not to think about the ethical, cultural and environmental aspects of the food we eat and how it is produced, regulated, controlled and distributed.

Join them at the heart of one of London’s most iconic & political buildings - City Hall -  for an insightful and thought provoking discussion.

Chaired by Mex Ibrahim – co-founder of Women in The Food Industry, the panel brings together the following women:

Angela Malik – Advisor and board member on the influential Mayor of London’s Food Board

Dr Anna Masing – Writer,  academic & trends forecaster, and co-founder of AMP

Ann Storr – Food Waste Fighter, workshop creator & strategist

Laura Winningham – CEO of City Harvest London, London’s first large scale, food redistribution effort to connect surplus food with those facing hunger

Nicola Matthews – UK and Ireland Marketing Manager of Tony’s Chocolonely – working toward 100% slave-free chocolate

Victoria Stewart – Freelance journalist, Founder of Hospitality Speaks & Head of Insight of Belazu

Book tickets on Eventbrite which include drinks, nibbles, networking and a ggodie bag with samples of Tony's Chocolonely chocolate.  Find out more about the Politics of Food Women In The Food Industry Debate on the website.
