As part of Urban Food Fortnight, an annual celebration of the fabulous produce being grown, made and cooked on our doorstep, the team at the East Sheen business will be serving delicious tapas dishes with ingredients sourced mainly from in and around London. On Saturday 21st September from 6pm to 11pm jar-on-the-go will create and serve a delicious menu based on their traditional small batch recipes from the Greek Islands.
Teaming up with local food businesses from Kew, London and Sutton, Ivan and Despina will show how you don’t always need to source ingredients from thousands of miles away to create a healthy yet delicious Mediterranean feast. They have adapted their menu to showcase some of the best food and drink produced in our city.
There is something for everyone. Cheese lovers will enjoy boards of award-winning artisan cheeses, curated by cheesemongers from Fine Cheese Co and a special cheese from London’s Blackwoods Cheese Company. If you thought most Mediterranean charcuterie came from Italy or Spain, think again as you will sample locally cured charcuterie from Hilton Hams, cured in Kew. There is also the team’s signature smoked duck from Creedy Carver. Vegetarians will also be catered for with wholesome organic dips, vibrant vegetables from the Sutton Community Farm sustainable urban farm and other small bites with local sourdough bread and delicacies which have sunshine of the Greek Cycladic islands at their heart.
On tap, the team will serve Table Beer, a delicious low-ABV pale ale brewed by pioneers of the London craft beer scene, The Kernel from Bermondsey. You'll also be able to drink, browse and buy products from Micro Beers' meticulously curated selection of around 200 craft beers, fine ciders, and natural wines
Tickets are priced at £45 each and include free access to the buffet and free pours of The Kernel Table Beer from the Micro Beers taps at 335 Upper Richmond Road West, East Sheen, SW14 8QR
